LIT Family Party and some classroom fun!

We had a great time of fun, games and food this week as all the LIT families got together to just have some time together outside of the classroom. We got together at Caleb David's home and we had a blast! This week one of our students, Randy - who always jokes about being homeless, had a birthday and the class thought it would be hilarious to actually make him a cardboard box house...we try to work hard and play hard!

Next week we will have a day where everyone will dress in their favorite sports team gear and before school is out for the holidays, we plan to have a fun celebration for Christmas...

Enjoy the pics!

Food and Clothing Drive

Today, our LIT's and some staff delivered ALL the coats, clothes, baby supplies, furniture and food that we've been collecting as a school and ministry for the past couple of months. They organized, sorted and worked to make this all happen. In the process, we were also able to help a family in the school with much needed baby supplies. Today, we delivered the truck load of coats, blankets, etc. to John 3:16 mission in downtown Tulsa. We had hoped to volunteer and spend some time helping them today - but turns out that they had more help than they could "shake a stick at"! That's a good problem to have...we're excited to continue allowing our students to have opportunities to touch not only their community, but their world! Here are a few pics of today!

Crazy Clothes Day at FCCA!

As part of our LIT program, it's up to the students to come up with fun things to do in the class room - we like to work hard and play hard too! It was hilarious...and as students continue to participate in these fun days, they will be voted on by their peers and at the end of the year - the person with the most points will win a gift card! The LITs did a great job not only communicating this event to their class mates...but they set the standard high or low, whichever way you look at it :-)

LIT's Music Recording Project Begins...

Today, we kicked off our LIT programs' recording project. The goal of this is to develop, stretch and create avenues for our LIT's to accomplish more than they ever imagined. They will start off by recording another artists' song as a practice run, then we will write and record an original song. This project will count as an arts credit, but the song will also be used to raise money for Faith Central's first annual mission trip with Big World Ventures (www.bigworld.org) to Ecuador. The vision is to continue to develop the leadership, gifts and talents in each of our LIT's...the LIT's are handpicked students from our programs that serve as student council and help us set the standards of excellence. This recording is being done at Mousetrap Recording...we are excited to see all that God is going to do through our LIT's: Skye Sasser, Summer Sasser, Kory Miller, David Vansandt, Brittany Winans, Hannah Christian and Brett Rossi...stay tuned...and enjoy the pics of our first brainstorming meeting in the studio!
